Import an oximeter CSV or EDF

Import an oximeter CSV or EDF and Apnealytics overlays overnight SpO₂ and pulse on that night's therapy, with ODI₃, ODI₄ and T90 (time below 90 percent). This is a Pro feature. It works with the Wellue O2Ring, Contec CMS50-family oximeters, ResMed SAD.edf files, and any oximeter that exports CSV or EDF.

Import an oximeter CSV or EDF
01

What you need

  • A Pro plan ($8.99 a month or $99.99 a year).

  • A recording from a night you have already uploaded from your CPAP card. The overlay needs both.

  • The export file from your oximeter's app or desktop software.

What you need
02

Step 1: Export from your oximeter

  • Wellue O2Ring

In the ViHealth app, open the recording, tap Share or Export, and choose CSV. Save it to Files (iPhone), your Downloads folder (Android) or email it to yourself.

  • Contec CMS50 family

Connect the oximeter to a computer and use the SpO₂ Assistant (or the software that shipped with your model) to download the recording, then export to CSV.

  • ResMed SAD.edf

If a ResMed oximetry adapter was used, the SAD.edf file is on your CPAP card in DATALOG and is picked up automatically during card upload. No separate import needed.

  • Other oximeters

Any device that exports CSV with a timestamp, SpO₂ and pulse column, or standard EDF, can be imported. If your file is not recognised, email a few rows of header to info@apnealytics.com.

Step 2: Import

On the web portal

Sign in at my.apnealytics.com, open Import, choose Oximeter and drop in the file. Apnealytics reads the timestamps and matches the recording to the night.

On iPhone, iPad or Android

Open Import in the app, choose Oximeter, and pick the CSV or JSON file from Files or your file manager. Phone apps import CSV and JSON exports; they do not read the CPAP card.

Step 2: Import
04

Step 3: Open the night

Go to Nights and open the matched night. The SpO₂ and pulse traces appear alongside airflow, pressure and leak, and the night's summary shows ODI₃, ODI₄, T90, SpO₂ average and the nightly low. Desaturation events line up with apnea and hypopnea events on the strips so you can see which came first.

05

Tips for a clean match

  • Keep your oximeter's clock synced to your phone, and your CPAP's clock accurate. Mismatched clocks shift the overlay.

  • Record all night, from mask-on to mask-off, so the whole session is covered.

  • Wear the ring as the manufacturer directs; a loose fit produces dropouts that look like desaturations.

Oximeter vs Apple Watch

Apple Health and Health Connect bring in a daily SpO₂ average and low from a watch, free. Those are spot readings, good for trends. A recording oximeter samples continuously, which is what ODI and T90 require. See Oximeters.

FAQ

Questions people ask

How do I import O2Ring data into Apnealytics?

Export the recording as CSV from the ViHealth app, then upload it under Import, Oximeter, on the web portal or in the phone app. Apnealytics matches it to the night by timestamp and overlays SpO₂ and pulse with ODI₃, ODI₄ and T90. Requires Pro.

Does Apnealytics support the CMS50 oximeter?

Yes. Download the recording with the CMS50 desktop software, export CSV and import it. Any CMS50-family (Contec) device that exports CSV works, as does any oximeter that exports EDF.

Can I import oximeter data without Pro?

Oximetry overlays and desaturation analytics are Pro features. Free includes Apple Health or Health Connect SpO₂ daily summaries from a watch, shown as Vitals tiles.

What is T90?

T90 is the total time during the night that SpO₂ was below 90 percent. ODI₃ and ODI₄ count desaturation events of at least 3 or 4 points per hour. Apnealytics shows all three for the imported recording. Read more in SpO₂, ODI and T90 explained.
