AirCurve 10 VAuto data in Apnealytics

Yes — full support. The ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto is a bilevel machine, and it writes the same STR.edf and DATALOG files as the AirSense family, with extra pressure channels for IPAP, EPAP and pressure support. Apnealytics reads all of it. Import the card and your AirCurve 10 VAuto data shows both pressures, every event, leak and usage, night by night.

AirCurve 10 VAuto at a glance

The VAuto is a step up from an AutoSet for people who need a larger gap between inhale and exhale pressure. Apnealytics treats it as a first-class machine rather than a CPAP with extra columns.

Where the SD card is

The AirCurve 10 shares its chassis with the AirSense 10. The SD slot is on the side behind a small hinged door. Turn the machine off, wait for the SD icon to stop flashing, open the door and press the card to release it.

  1. Turn the AirCurve 10 off and open the card door.

  2. Eject the card and place it in a reader on your computer

  3. Sign in at my.apnealytics.com and open Import.

  4. Drag the whole card folder onto the drop zone

Files upload directly to private storage on Cloudflare R2 and resume after any interruption.

  5. When the import finishes, return the card to the machine

Later imports add only new nights.

What you'll see

  • IPAP, EPAP and pressure support

Instead of a single pressure line, bilevel nights show EPAP and IPAP percentiles with the pressure support between them. In VAuto mode you can see how far the machine wandered within its range, and whether the max IPAP is being reached regularly.

  • Event composition with centrals called out

Bilevel users often watch central events closely. Apnealytics shows obstructive, central, hypopnea and unclassified events separately for every night, and the 30-night rolling trend reveals whether centrals are drifting with a pressure support change.

  • Respiratory rate and leak P95

The AirCurve records respiratory rate alongside leak. Leak matters more on bilevel because high pressure support makes mouth leak more likely; Mask Analytics compares leak P95 across each mask you have used. On Pro, the waveform viewer shows airflow and both pressure traces breath by breath.

Known quirks

  • Mode labels. If your clinician switches you between S and VAuto, "What changed?" shows the mode change and the pressure settings that went with it. Expect the pressure chart to look different on either side of that line.

  • Pressure support and leak. Higher PS tends to raise leak. If leak P95 jumps the same night PS changed, that is probably the cause rather than a mask fault.

  • Trigger and cycle settings. These are recorded in the settings block and surfaced when they change, but Apnealytics does not interpret them. They are for your clinician.

  • Detailed-data retention. DATALOG files are kept for a limited window, roughly 30 days by default. Import monthly to keep waveforms for every night.

  • Shared parts with AirSense 10. Cards, humidifier tubs and heated tubes are interchangeable with the AirSense 10. Apnealytics identifies the machine from Identification.tgt, so a card moved between machines is attributed correctly.

Compatible masks

Bilevel pressures put more strain on a seal, so full face masks are common on the AirCurve 10. Any ResMed mask fits the standard 22 mm connection:

  • Full face

    AirFit F20, AirFit F30i

  • Nasal

    AirFit N20, AirFit N30i

  • Nasal pillows

AirFit P10, AirFit P30i — usually with lower pressure support

Three cards with real mask cut-outs on teal blobs: Full face (AirFit F20 · AirFit F30i), shown AirFit F30i; Nasal (AirFit N20 · AirFit N30i), shown AirFit N30i; Nasal pillows (AirFit P10 · AirFit P30i · usually with lower PS), shown AirFit P30i; footer: 22 mm tube, Mask Analytics per mask, replacement reminders

Set the mask type on the machine to match the mask you wear so leak is reported correctly.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Does Apnealytics support bilevel machines like the AirCurve 10 VAuto?

Yes. The AirCurve 10 VAuto, S, ST and ASV all write the same ResMed card format with additional pressure channels. Apnealytics shows IPAP and EPAP percentiles, pressure support, events, leak, usage and respiratory rate, plus trends and, on Pro, breath-by-breath waveforms for every night on the card.

What is the difference between S and VAuto mode in my data?

S mode uses fixed IPAP and EPAP, so the pressure chart shows two flat lines. VAuto moves EPAP within a range and keeps pressure support constant, so EPAP and IPAP rise and fall together. Apnealytics labels the mode on each night and marks the switch in "What changed?".

Does the AirCurve 10 record central apneas?

Yes. Like the AirSense 10, it uses forced-oscillation to distinguish central from obstructive apneas, and both are written to the card. Apnealytics shows them separately in the event composition and lets you trend centrals over 30 nights. Discuss any pattern with your clinician.

Can I use the same SD card from my old AirSense 10?

You can, but import it first. A card that has been in two machines holds data from both. Apnealytics reads the machine identity on the card and attaches nights to the right device, and the Pro plan keeps full gear history across machines.

Will Apnealytics show my ASV or ST machine too?

Yes. The AirCurve 10 ST and ASV write the same files with their own pressure channels and backup rate settings. The charts adapt to the mode. If something on your ASV looks unexpected, write to info@apnealytics.com with the machine model and we will check the parser.
