Apnealytics vs SleepHQ: which CPAP data app fits you?

Both take the data off your CPAP card and put it in the cloud. SleepHQ reads more brands today and has a large, established community. Apnealytics costs less, has phone apps with Apple Health and Health Connect on the free plan, reads any standard oximeter export, and is built around private, self-owned data.

Where SleepHQ is ahead

  • Brand coverage. If your machine is a Löwenstein prisma or a BMC, SleepHQ can read it today in full.
  • Community. A built-in forum where members share charts and ask each other questions.
  • Hardware upload. The Magic Uploader Pro removes the computer from the loop for ResMed users, if you can get one.
  • Track record. SleepHQ has been around longer and has a visible rating history.

Where Apnealytics is ahead

  • Price. $8.99/month or $99.99/year against $14.90/month or $149/year. About $49 less a year.
  • A free tier that stays useful. $0 forever with unlimited imports, 30 nights, Health sync, Ask your data, family logins and export.
  • Oximeter choice. Wellue, Contec, ResMed SAD.edf and any EDF/CSV export, with ODI₃, ODI₄ and T90.
  • Doctor workflow. Compliance autopilot finds the qualifying 30-day window and drafts the letter. Share links are revocable.
  • Family. Multiple logins on one account are free, and one Pro lifts every login.
WHO SHOULD PICK WHICH

An honest decision guide.

  • Pick SleepHQ ifYour machine is Löwenstein or BMC and you want cloud charts this week. You want a community to compare charts with. You would rather buy the Magic Uploader Pro than use a card reader.
  • Pick Apnealytics ifYou use a ResMed, Philips DreamStation or F&P machine. You want a free plan that does not run out after 30 days. You already own a Wellue O2Ring or Contec oximeter. You want a compliance letter without the paperwork. Two or more people in your home use CPAP.
  • Try both ifYou are undecided. Both have a free tier. A card upload to each takes under ten minutes, and you will know within a night which dashboard you prefer looking at. Your SD card is the source of truth, not the app.
FAQ

Questions people ask

Is Apnealytics cheaper than SleepHQ?

Yes. Apnealytics Pro is $8.99/month or $99.99/year. SleepHQ Pro is US $14.90/month or $149/year. The free tiers differ more than the paid tiers: Apnealytics Free has no expiry and includes Health sync and family logins, while SleepHQ Free is limited to one device, one member and 30 days.

Does Apnealytics work with Philips DreamStation like SleepHQ does?

Yes. Philips DreamStation 1 and 2 are supported at Apnealytics. SleepHQ and the free desktop tool OSCAR read DreamStation cards too, so it comes down to which dashboard you prefer.

Can I use my own oximeter with SleepHQ or Apnealytics?

SleepHQ supports only its own SleepHQ-branded O2 Ring. Apnealytics Pro reads the Wellue O2Ring, Contec CMS50-family CSV exports, ResMed SAD.edf files and any oximeter that exports EDF or CSV, and overlays SpO₂ and pulse on the night with ODI₃, ODI₄ and T90.

Does either app read the ResMed AirMini?

No. The AirMini has no SD card, so there is nothing for any third-party tool to read. Neither SleepHQ nor Apnealytics nor OSCAR can import AirMini data. The only data source for an AirMini is ResMed's own myAir app.

Can I switch from SleepHQ to Apnealytics without losing history?

Your history lives on your SD card, not in either app. Upload the same card to Apnealytics and every night on it is imported; re-uploading later only adds new nights. If you have replaced cards over the years, upload each one. Anything that was only ever on a card you no longer have cannot be recovered by any tool.

Upload the same card to both. Decide in a night.

Free account, unlimited imports, no card required.
