Connect Health Connect

Connect Health Connect in the Apnealytics Android app to see daily resting heart rate, HRV, SpO₂, sleep hours and weight from your watch or ring beside your CPAP nights. Only daily summaries leave your phone. It is free, and you can revoke any category in Health Connect settings.

Connect Health Connect
01

Before you start

  • The Apnealytics Android app installed and signed in. Get it on Google Play.
  • Health Connect on your phone. It is built into Android 14 and later and available from Google Play on Android 9 to 13.
  • A source writing to Health Connect: Pixel Watch, Galaxy Watch (via Samsung Health), Fitbit, Oura, Withings and others that support it. Check your wearable's app settings for a Health Connect option and turn it on.

Steps

Steps
  1. Open Apnealytics and go to Settings.

  2. Tap Health Connect.

  3. Tap Connect. Android opens the Health Connect permissions screen.

  4. Allow the categories you want Apnealytics to read: Heart rate, Heart rate variability, Oxygen saturation, Sleep, and Weight. Allow some or all.

  5. Tap Allow or Done.

  6. Back in Apnealytics, pull down to refresh. Vitals appear within a minute or two.

03

What you will see

Vitals tiles on Home and full charts on the Vitals screen: SpO₂ average with the nightly low shaded, resting heart rate, HRV (SDNN), sleep hours and weight, with 30D, 90D, 1Y and All ranges and single-day drill-downs, on the same timeline as your AHI.

04

What leaves your device

Daily summaries only: one resting heart rate, one HRV value, SpO₂ average and low, sleep hours, weight per day. Raw readings stay in Health Connect. Health data is excluded from clinician share links by default, never appears in push notifications, and is never logged.

05

Background sync

Today, Apnealytics reads Health Connect when you open the app. Passive overnight sync is on the roadmap and needs an extra Google review before it can ship. If you want yesterday's vitals to be there in the morning, open the app; it takes a moment.

06

If nothing appears

  • Wearable not writing to Health Connect. Open your watch's app (Fitbit, Samsung Health, Oura) and enable Health Connect syncing there. Then open Health Connect, App permissions, and confirm the watch app has write access.

  • Permission missing. Open Health Connect (Settings, Security and privacy, Health Connect, or the Health Connect app), tap App permissions, choose Apnealytics and turn categories on.

  • Data not finalised. Sleep and overnight SpO₂ are written in the morning after the watch syncs. Give it time.

  • Health Connect not installed. On Android 13 and earlier, install it from Google Play.

07

Disconnect

Health Connect, App permissions, Apnealytics, Remove all permissions. Or in Apnealytics Settings, tap Health Connect, Disconnect. Synced summaries stay in your account until you delete them from Settings or delete the account.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Which Android watches work with Apnealytics?

Any wearable whose app writes heart rate, HRV, SpO₂, sleep or weight to Health Connect. Apnealytics reads Health Connect, not the watch directly. Pixel Watch, Galaxy Watch via Samsung Health, Fitbit and Oura support Health Connect; check your watch app for the toggle.

Is Health Connect sync free?

Yes. Health Connect and Apple Health sync are part of the Free plan. Pro adds oximetry overlays from a recording ring, waveforms, full history and reports.

Does Apnealytics write to Health Connect?

No. It requests read permissions only for the categories you allow and never writes anything.

Why are my vitals a day behind on Android?

Apnealytics reads Health Connect when you open the app, and most watches finalise overnight data after their morning sync. Open your watch app first, then Apnealytics. Background sync is on the roadmap.
