Philips and Fisher & Paykel: what “in testing” means at Apnealytics

ResMed is fully live. Here is exactly what Apnealytics reads from Philips DreamStation and Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle today, and what we still need.

Part ofHow to Read CPAP Data

ResMed cards are fully read today. Other brands move out of testing only when real cards parse correctly.

When we say a machine is supported, we mean one thing: real cards from that machine parse correctly and the numbers match what the machine reports. Today that is true for ResMed AirSense, AirCurve, S9 and Lumis machines, and only for those. This post is the honest status for everything else.

Key takeaways

  • ResMed machines are fully supported from the SD card.
  • Philips DreamStation 1, Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle and React Health Luna G3 are in testing, not supported yet.
  • DreamStation 2, Löwenstein prisma and the Transcend Micro are on the waitlist; the ResMed AirMini cannot be read by any tool.

What we read today

MachineStatusWhat that means
ResMed AirSense 10 and 11, AirCurve 10 and 11, S9, LumisSupportedFull nightly data from the SD card, including leak, pressure and events
Philips DreamStation (original)In testingUsage, adherence and the pressure setting. Not AHI, leak or waveforms yet
Fisher & Paykel SleepStyleIn testingData is stored on a USB stick; we are checking our reader against real sticks
React Health Luna G3In testingBeing checked against real cards
Philips DreamStation 2WaitlistIts data file is encrypted; Apnealytics does not read it
Löwenstein prismaWaitlistNo summary file; usage lives in a proprietary waveform we do not parse
Transcend MicroWaitlistDemand decides when we build it
ResMed AirMiniCannot be readNo SD card and no export, for any tool

Why testing takes time

Philips and Fisher & Paykel store data in proprietary formats rather than the open EDF files ResMed uses. A reader that works on one card can still misread another model or firmware version, so we validate against real data before we put the word supported on a page. Showing AHI or leak for a machine we have not verified would be worse than showing nothing.

How you can help

If you have a DreamStation or SleepStyle card or stick you are willing to share for testing, email info@apnealytics.com. Real data is the fastest way to move a machine out of testing. You can also add the machine to your gear and we will tell you when its status changes, and the compatibility checker always shows the current status of your exact model.

What stays free either way

Everything that is not machine-specific works whatever you use: mask tracking and replacement reminders, Apple Health and Health Connect vitals, and the Knowledge Hub. If your machine is not ResMed, OSCAR and SleepHQ read more brands today, and we will say so plainly.

Not medical advice. Apnealytics is a tracking and coaching tool, not a diagnostic device. Machine-estimated numbers are not a clinical diagnosis; talk to your clinician about your therapy.
